The organization is defined by what Members contribute to their communities, each other, and the infrastructure construction industry. The shared wisdom and experience of our members and our goal to work for the benefit of the entire industry is what makes the AIAI impactful.
Member leadership, experience and expertise make it possible for AIAI to work as a collective group providing for a strong voice in the industry.
AIAI membership represents a broad spectrum of the professional disciplines in private enterprise and public service—leading construction firms, investors, developers, service firms, planners, and academics. There are two categories of membership in AIAI: Regular and Affiliate.
Regular Member: Persons or companies that have bid on, been awarded or invested in either individually or as a member of a consortium; a contractor, design or engineering firm, equity provider or an Operations & Maintenance provider for the building or development of an infrastructure asset in the United States. Regular Members:
- elect the Board at each Annual meeting
- approve the annual budget
- have the exclusive authority to remove & replace the Board members
- amend the bylaws
All other activities are reserved to the Board. Regular members have the right to attend and participate in each meeting of the Board.
Affiliate Member: Affiliate members have the right to attend and participate in each meeting of members and each meeting of the Board, but have no vote at the board meetings. Affiliate members may participate on Committees and shall have the right to vote on matters coming before that committee.
